Casual Looks For the Summer

In the summer time, I'm all about the "be comfy cause it's hot" look. These are really easy looks and one thing I've learned is a statement necklace,well, really makes a statement!

Black and White stripe Obsessed

I mean, come on, who doesn't love classic stripes? 

From interior design to fashion, you can't go wrong.

And I can't forget about my new Iphone Case 

I love interior design so much, sometimes it hurts.

These have been my recent projects in and around my place!

My Main wall in my living room and I really wish I had a before picture, but basically it was pretty simple.


I spent around $35 on the project.

The Window pane was free, I found it in our barn last year when we were moving, I just cleaned it up and tadah!

The G and M(my husband's family name and my family name initials) were free from my old job, they were throwing away old signs so I (and someone else) tore them off and I just spray painted them! Mirror Star is something I've had for many years, I got it on clearance at the end of christmas one year, I think it was orginally around $25 and I enedd up paying $5. Black Frame was another thing that I have had for years and had been sitting in my basement. I just took out the old pic and tore a picture out of one of my design books and framed it! Shadow Box and Sea Fan, these are what I spent my money on, the Shadow box is from Michaels orginally $24.99 but I got it on sale for 40% off, score. And the Sea Fan I got off Ebay for $8.

          And the only thing left is the American Flag, which is again something I already had, I only bought the red,white and blue spray paint. Taped off the stripes, made my own star templates and went down to business.

So glad how it turned out! 

AND Today I worked on this...

The Picture on the left is the chairs that go to the Pub table, but honestly they are big and bulky for my small kitchen and a few months back I fell off one and broke the back in half(that is a story into it's self) So I was ready for a change! Again I used what I had! I bought these other stools two years ago off Craig's List for $100(4) and have them sitting upstairs doing nothing, orginally black I spray painted them white :)

Summer of Fun

This summer has been one of the craziest I've had, who knew when you don't have a job so many other things fill up your time.

So I had a three week break from school in June, and those three weeks came and went fast! One of the things I did was I went to Chicago. Much time was spent shopping, and I'll soon show you what I bought but here are some "summer" pictures so far! 

What are your favorite things to do while on summer break?

Me and My mom went up on the train and then my sister came up the next day, I realize now that I did not take that many pictures! But we had such a great time! 

I have started a new diet where I will not be eating any preservatives, no whites(sugar,flour,rice) all natural foods, and today is day two! It's going pretty good. I have quite a few recipes that I will be trying and if they turn out good, I'll start to post some! This is a 14 day things and if I make it I will continue it!

Update!

So in the absence of myself, I have a bit of some news! 

There is going to be some changes to the blog and I'm happy to announce my sister will be joining me! A revamp of the blog will be coming soon. We will focus on fashion, design, and lifestyle! 

I am super excited about the help and what we will be bring you. So keep an eye out so the new blog soon. 

I also believe we will be renaming the blog. 

We will do separate posts and collaborate on some as well! 

So here's to a new chapter!

Lackluster

I have been uninspired, unmotivated, and uninterested in fashion lately. 

Perhaps it is because I am on school break, but summer sometimes get me down. Why does it have to be so dang hot. I'd just rather stay inside in the air. And most times in my jean shorts and a tee. Nothing interesting. So bare with me while I get out of this funk! 

Is it just me or do some feel the same way? I've tried to bring back the spark by broswing pinterest and other fashion blogs, but nothing, it better come back soon I've got a trip coming up that I have to pack for! 

At least I'll be shopping and getting some new clothes, so maybe that will inspire me!

Anyhow, some things that I never get uninterested in is SHOES! So I will show you some of my must-haves ---- Needs!

Less than 3 weeks!

So everybody knows google reader will be gone in three week. . (sad face). It has made my life so much easier when it comes to reading my favorite blogs I follow. However I found this article on IFB's site today, How to Move Your Google Reader Feed to Bloglovin' and it kind of made my day!It may take a second to load them all in but they are there! And I feel good again :)

Revamping a Jean Jacket

So I recently bought a jean jacket from Target (the one I had been searching for, for under $30) and was super happy with it, but was needing(wanting) a jean vest, so remember this here, well I cut off the sleeves and made a vest! I love how it turned out and have so many things to pair with it!

Like most of you I was super disappointed to see Google Reader going away and now it is only a month away. Today I happen upon a petition that they will be sending to goggle.

Hope everyone had a safe and eventful Memorial Day Weekend.

Mother's Day Mint

Simple Mother's Day attire a few weeks back.

I got the necklace off of ebay for  around $5ish I think. I love it! And it works great with these pants~

I am also LOVING these heels. I found them on another bloggers page and had to have them! Out of the 10 Target around me only one still had them in stock, so I drove in faith to see if they had my size and they did! I was so happy :)

Outside Elements

I love incorporating the outside in my decor!

And I get most of my inspiration for nature, I love greens, browns, whites, blues! 

One easy and fun way to incorporate nature is branches! They are free and you can just go outside to get them! 

Put them in a vase, or on the mantel or do what I did and make them wall art!

I just spray painted them & held them together with a rubber band! Easy as that!

Gives the room texture and depth!

Memphis in may

Wet and cold is not what I usually think of when planning my trip for Memphis in May Music Festival, but the last minute rainboots and coats were a life saver!

In between the breaks in the rain we ventured out to Beale St. and ate uh gator? Popcorn gator to be exact. What are great time we had, oh and saw some great bands too! 

I've been loving the trend of embelleshed jackets and have been long for one like this and this. But forgot I bought this from H&M at the end of last summer. Worked out great for this trip :)
